Pizza Antica is a restaurant tenant improvement within an open-air, retail development in Mill Valley. The design is the evolution of the Pizza Antica prototype, honed and applied to a very unusually shaped space with three walls of window. The design includes a dining room, display kitchen, kitchen with prep and storage, trellised outdoor dining area with incorporated heating elements and planters, signage, lighting design, color palette selection, and exterior detailing.
One of the client’s favorite restaurants in Florence, Italy, inspired the design. The artwork features local, black and white photography to provide contextual, visual accents to the classic dining room.
Our design includes a unique casework system of dark, stained hardwood is extremely efficient programmatically and provides a visual backdrop for napkins, silverware, and pizza boxes. Other design elements include unique variations for the floor tile pattern, wainscoting and trellis designs. The materials palette and detailing we created for this restaurant will be applied to future locations.
